Great Men are selfish

Selfishness is about people doing things, which they feel will make them live happy. So I would say Great Men are more selfish than common man.

Common man buys house, becomes relatively richer than his neighbour and spends a miserly life ( we are mostly worried about relative w el being rather than absolute property we possess ) derives happiness which lives only for a short amount of time. His expectation never gets filled up. He is always caught up in the state of donkey that is tantalized with the carrot tied to the stick. However it tries, the carrot moves for away.

But great men are different. They work up on a goal, a vision that will lead to the betterment of THEIR soceity, THEIR country, THEIR Countrymen upliftment. They bring about social transformation. During the course of the same, they experience bliss, the highest state of happiness that cannot be quantized. They are happy for ever. They are really Selfish people.

They act for their community as a whole, not because for the want of bliss which is never achievable, if one works on a very narrow circle of one and ones family, but it is what interests them and it is what they love doing. Thus they dont even have the mental feeling that, their actions are motivated by the result bliss, not by inner urge for the cause. And if Great Men does the work only for attaining bliss, then they become comman man and bliss becomes a tantalizing carrot.

They are full of energy and vision, they dont have time to think about petty issues. They do not give a thought about their whitening hair, flourishing neighbour or tempting sweets in the fridge. They are engrossed in their vision and work. They are happy for ever. But somehow , these things are termed as altruistic and says it is opposite to selfishness even by wikipedia

These guys are certainly more selfish, as they are constantly working for their cause and country. we are less selfish, as we are worried about only ourselves. They are also more happy and wise. Though becoming great one in a night is impossible, We can atleast make a step in the direction. Are we fools to let only Gr8 men have all the fun?
